Share The Plate

Goals
Each Sunday a portion of the collection goes to a worthy non-profit organization in our community that acts on our UU values. Preference is given to organizations supported by volunteer efforts of our members. All checks and envelopes marked “Share the Plate” and half of all undesignated cash will be donated to recipients.
Objectives
All Share the Plate recipient organizations must be a 501(c)(3) certified entity.
Advertising and other means are used to increase awareness of and participation in this program.
The Share the Plate team may designate organizations or causes as world and local events warrant.
Actions and Plans
Share the Plate is coordinated by Jon Durbin and Mark E. Anderson and is under the Social Justice Ministry Team. The coordinators may receive nominations from the congregation at any time. Priority is given to non-profit organizations where members have already been volunteering. Hence, our money follows and enhances our volunteer efforts.
