Sundays at Live Oak

We are an intergenerational community.

We have chosen to be intentionally intergenerational. Many families do not have grandparents, aunts, and uncles nearby on a regular basis, so we work to create that kind of caring community here.

Our worship services are designed for all ages because we love coming together as one community.

We also understand that not all little ones are ready for a full service. We offer:

  • Nursery care for infants & toddlers

  • Comfort rooms at the back of the sanctuary with clear windows and sound piped in
(so you can still enjoy the service while rocking your baby or while your toddler plays nearby)

  • A “prayerground” with soft toys and whisper play at the front right of the sanctuary

Come as you are.

Wear whatever feels comfortable.

  • Many of our folks wear jeans or casual clothing

  • Some people enjoy dressing up a bit

  • Either way, you will fit right in

What you will not experience.

We will not single you out or ask you to stand up and introduce yourself.

If you would like, we would love for you to stop by our Visitor Table so we can say hello and answer any questions you have.

*Nursery care is for your comfort, not ours. Breastfeeding and bottle feeding parents are always welcome in the sanctuary, and child/baby sounds are too.

Visit this Sunday and see what Live Oak feels like.

In-Person

Service begins at 11am.

Space for Everyone

The Nursery at Live Oak UU Church warmly welcomes your little ones every Sunday from 9:30 am to 12:30 pm. Our space is filled with toys, books, and crafts to inspire joy and creativity. When the weather is nice, we love taking the children to our beautiful, tree-shaded playground for some fresh air and outdoor fun. Our nursery is staffed by trained, background-checked caregivers who create a safe and nurturing environment, ensuring your child feels comfortable and cared for. We look forward to welcoming your family!

Our nursery is conveniently located on the ground floor in room 109.

When signing your child into the nursery, please bring any supplies they may need, along with feeding and changing instructions. If your child has special dietary needs or specific care preferences, let our childcare providers know. You may also leave your cell phone number so we can contact you during the service if needed (please set phones to vibrate). Alternatively, we can always come find you.

We want you to feel comfortable with your choices. Babies and children are always welcome in the sanctuary during worship. We understand that sitting still for an entire sermon can be a challenge for some, so we have “fidget items” available in the narthex, such as whiteboards for doodling, labyrinth tracing, and coloring pages. And yes—if knitting helps you focus, feel free to bring your project! For those needing a quieter space, we have two rooms at the back of the sanctuary with large windows and audio. One room is a play space for “wiggly” kids, and the other is a calm, low-stimulation area for those who need a bit of peace. We hope everyone in your family feels right at home here!
