January 28, in the LOUU sanctuary, Some Assembly Required (our house band) will be leading a ‘service in song’ entitled “Sing; give voice to your spirit.”

Bill Dower writes: “I believe most people have spiritual experiences. My own are typically a deep emotional swell or wave, which seems to be sparked by natural beauty, a moving piece of music, hearing a touching story or witnessing an act of love, or sometimes the realization of a profound truth. For me, the most reliable of these is music. Sharing music with others is perhaps the strongest thing that draws me to church.”

“For January 28, we have asked some of the musicians in the congregation (including a few you may not think of as musicians), to share with you some music that they find a spiritual connection with. Some of the songs have been featured in recent movies, performed by artists you may be familiar with. Other songs likely you have never heard. Please come with open hearts, and help us celebrate our spiritual connection with this art form.”
