It’s the easy breezy days of summer, but we are hard at work planning for our next “church year” (which starts in September.) We’ve got some terrific things lined up, including a new service time, so pull out your calendar and mark the below dates.
FIRST … Sunday, September 7, we debut a new Sunday schedule. In order to better accomodate our faith development program (and not have it constantly pre-empted by a community activity, such as a potluck, Maypole, Fed & Informed, etc.) we are shifting: Faith Development classes will be at 10:00, with the worship service beginning at 11:00. Expect to hear more about that throughout the summer!
August 16, 10:00 am Worship Leader Training. If you are interested in being a worship leader, please come to this training session. Even if you have lots of experience, please attend, as we’ll be going over the new liturgy and tips/tricks. Breakfast will be served.
August 23, 11:00 am – Gen X Lunch and Round Table. If you identify as part of Generation X (roughly born between 1965 and 1980, but we won’t be checking ids), join Rev. Joanna and Renee G at Panera for a discussion about our particular cohort and how it impacts our engagement with church.
August 24, 10:00 am Water Communion/Homecoming Service, followed by Fed & Informed Potluck
September 6, Church Rummage Sale
September 7, New church year begins and church shifts to Religious Education at 10:00 am, Worship at 11:00
September 26-28 Church Retreat
October 26, Fall Family Halloween Fest
December 13 Selfies with Santa Holiday Festival
March 7 Live Oak Gala and Service Auction
There will be other events throughtout the year, programming that we haven’t dreamed up. But here are some of the major items. Put them on your calendar now so you don’t have to say, “Oh, no, I’m not available!”
