A Celebration of our Holiday Arts

Thanks to everyone who sent in photos of their children’s Halloween costumes for our postlude last Sunday! Those pictures from you all really “make” our videos. You may have noticed the colorful heart painting by Nancy Mason’s grandson Dominic last week, used as the wallpaper for “Fire of Commitment”. That was just a wonderful gift. If any of you or your family can provide good close-up photos of your artwork, I can promise it will appear some Sunday, maybe when you least expect it!

Just around the corner is Thanksgiving, and I would love to collect photos of still life holiday arrangements, and turkey art. Again, lean towards close-ups, generally. Let us see how you do it in your home. Send photos to me at music@liveoakuu.org.

Christmas is a time when music becomes more important for just about everybody. It would hardly be Christmas without it. We are thinking up ways to bring people in to be part of our recorded services during December. Do you or your kids play an instrument, sing, dance (to Christmas/Holiday music)? Make a video and send it in to me or Joanna. This is similar to our Hymn #147 project earlier in the pandemic period- everyone has their own approach! We can’t wait to see what you come up with, and look forward to the happiness these homemade productions bring to everyone watching the services.

Thank you so much for your continued support and kind words on the Sunday chat. The choir has been a joy to work with and they deserve many accolades, as well as our accompanist, Darja Tomanovic. It’s great to make music for you! We hope you are singing along heartily!
